Adding and Verifying Your Site

Welcome to PerfBee! This guide will walk you through the process of adding and verifying your website within our platform. Verifying your site is crucial for several reasons, primarily to reduce your credit consumption when using the Site Crawler feature. This allows you to get the most out of your PerfBee plan.

Why Verify Your Site?

When you verify your site, PerfBee recognizes it as an owned property. This grants you access to lower credit costs on Site Crawler scans. For instance, a detailed scan on an unverified site costs 4 credits per page, while the same scan on a verified site costs only 1 credit per page. This can significantly impact your credit usage, especially for larger websites.

To get started, head to the Dashboard and add your site in the Sites tab.

Verification Methods

PerfBee offers two methods for verifying your site:

  1. IP Whitelist
  2. This method involves allowing PerfBee's server IP address in your firewall or Cloudflare settings. Here's how:

    1. Identify your firewall or Cloudflare settings.
    2. Add PerfBee's server IP address to your whitelist: 173.212.236.185.
    3. Save your changes.
  3. HTTP Header
  4. This method involves creating a rule in Cloudflare or configuring your Nginx server to allow requests with a specific HTTP header. PerfBee automatically sends this header when crawling your site. Here's how:

    1. Create a Cloudflare WAF rule or configure your Nginx server.
    2. Allow requests that contain the header: X-PerfBee-Token: <unique-token>. Replace <unique-token> with the token provided by PerfBee.
    3. Save your changes.

Important Note: PerfBee automatically sends the X-PerfBee-Token header when crawling your owned sites. You do not need to manually add this header to your site's code.

Checking Verification Status

After implementing one of the verification methods, you can check your site's verification status in the My Sites section within the PerfBee dashboard. The status will indicate whether your site is verified. Once verified, you'll immediately benefit from the reduced credit costs on crawler scans.
